It all started during my review days for the board exam. That was when I was still in Baguio City. For me the City of Pines is so conducive for coffee lovers. The cool climate of the city added a little drama kapag umiinom ka ng freshly brewed coffee.
Naalala ko during Saturday night, after a long week of review madalas kami tumambay at uminom ng kape sa isang coffee shop sa Baguio. Mahirap man syang i-spell pero for sure tatatak sa iyo ang memories mo with this coffee shop.
Maishare ko lang, last December, pag-uwi ko ng Pinas, I invited my whole family to enjoy the Christmas spirit sa Baguio. Aside from taking the opportunity to bond with my father and my siblings naisip ko na rin na balikan ang paborito kong tambayan syempre ang Kaffeeklatsch. Sana the same pa rin or kung di man sana lalong gumanda.
Pagsapit ng gabi nagyaya na ako magkape. By the way Kaffeeklatsch is located along City Camp Road but near the Legarda Road. We actually made a long walk from Session Road and then passing through Burnham Park until we reached Legarda. Maliit lang ang Baguio and one of the good side of this city is that you can actually walk to reach to your chosen destination.
When we reached Kaffeeklatsch, second set na ng acoustic singers ang naabutan namin. Puno ang coffee shop as I expected. I checked around to see some old friends but I never saw one, except for some common faces which I knew way back my college days. Wala na kaming halos maupuan pero we were lucky that night because the seat in front of the singers became available.
When we all settled and ordered our coffees, I felt so relieved and relaxed. All the good memories I had with Kaffeeklatsch flashed back. It was a trip back to memory lane. And the songs that covered the atmosphere that night was so perfect. I felt like I never left the place.
While I was enjoying my hot coffee, The bittersweet taste and the aroma of brewed coffee reminded me all the happy memories I had. From the time when I first visited the coffee shop up to the numerous times na pagtambay with my fellow dorm mates. Inaanbot kami ng closing time ng coffee shop which was beyond our curfew in the dorm back then. Pati ata mga bago kong mga kaibigan na nakilala nainvite ko na rin magkape sa coffee shop na to, including some of my ka-opisina from my previous work in Makati. And now, another people to add in my list, I hanged-out with my family. We stayed until pass midnight kasama pa si Papa who should be sleeping by that time pero hindi, He managed to stay late and enjoy his coffee while listening to acoustic music.
If there is one place na babalik balikan ko, definitely ito yun. Sana lang kahit tumanda na ang mga owners or kahit na magbago na ang management ng coffee shop eh magtuloy-tuloy pa ring bukas ang Kaffeeklatsch para sa mga coffee lovers like me.
