Last Sunday, our taste buds embarked on an unexpected adventure as we finally stepped into the sweet world of Kuidaore. Thanks to a TikTok video that sparked our curiosity, we found ourselves in a delightful ice cream haven nestled right within the heart of Al Sadd Metro Station.
As the clock hand pointed past 8 PM, we headed into Kuidaore, a cozy nook with more charm than seats. Our timing seemed to be in sync with the universe’s plans, as every seat was claimed in a full house flurry. While patiently waiting for our moment to indulge, we sneakily checked the menu, and our attention was caught by the famous Bingsu, a showstopper that couldn’t be ignored.
Just when our patience had been tapped, two empty chairs waved us over. With gleeful excitement, we ordered the Bingsu Mango Sticky Rice, and decided to go all out with a side of Mochi wrapped in the enchanting embrace of Kinako, and of course, Oreo crumble for the ultimate dip experience.
As we glanced around, we couldn’t help but notice the dynamic duo of crew members holding down the fort. With just two magicians behind the counter, it was like watching a well-choreographed dance. Naturally, we braced ourselves for a bit of a wait, but you know what they say – patience makes the taste buds grow fonder. The anticipation built up a delicious sense of intrigue, only adding to the enchantment of what lay ahead. And just as the saying goes, “all good things come to those who wait,” our patience was about to be rewarded in the most delectable way. The Mochi and Bingsu we were about to savor turned out to be well worth every moment of suspenseful anticipation.
Our Mochi took the stage first, and it was a soft and chewy revelation, with the Kinako coating adding a fun twist of texture; then, a dip into the Oreo crumbles resulted in a match made in culinary heaven. Despite its unassuming simplicity, this treat was light, and satisfying, and brought smiles without any taste bud acrobatics – a delightful curtain-raiser indeed to our flavor-packed journey!
Just when we thought we were halfway through our foodie expedition, the star of the night finally made its entrance – the Bingsu, accompanied by sticky rice and those juicy mango slices. Bingsu, the icy delight with a fruity twist, was ready to party on our palates. Thank goodness we went for mango because that combo was like a dynamic duo of deliciousness. The pure, pristine shaved ice cream, as it dissolved on our tongues, felt like a chilly dream turning into creamy bliss. And, oh, the sticky rice and mango slices? They gave us a friendly nudge of nostalgia, reminding me of that awesome Pangasinan treat, Binungey.
It’s no wonder that Kuidaore has become a sweet sensation, a magnetic force for sugar aficionados and seekers of ice cream enchantment. Our first visit to Kuidaore will definitely not be the last one, but only just the beginning. Prepare your taste buds for more escapades, more sugary stories, and more memories in the making.
