Toasted

This happened during our Thursday Coffee Night. I was with Lovsy and two other friends, Lolit and JT.

After we chose our orders I called the waitress and placed our orders.

Me: Miss I would like to order one mochaccinno with bun, one americcano with bun, one mint tea with bun and one black tea with bun.

The waitress repeated our orders and she got them all right.

Then we requested to make the buns toasted.

Me: Can you make the buns toasted?

And great silence came next. The waitress looked blank at me.

Waitress: Toast..ed?

Me: Yes toasted please.

Waitress: What do you mean toasted?

Me: Hmmm toasted… A little bit burned.

Lovsy: Overcooked.

JT: Make them browned.

Waitress: Oh you want more chocolate.

Me: No, toasted means you leave the buns in the oven for additional five minutes.

Waitress: Oh you want 5 more buns.

Lolit: No toasted… Overbaked.

Me: Leave the buns in the oven for more time. (I am already making hand gestures by rolling my hands.)

The waitress was totally lost. Houston we have a problem. She pressed her lifeline and called a friend for help.  She called another crew member. The waiter approached us.

Waiter: Yes sir.

Me: We ordered four buns and we want to make the buns toasted please.

Waiter: Toasted?

Me: Yes, more brown.

JT: Darker… Browner on top.

Lovsy: Overcooked.

Lolit: Overbaked.

Waiter: Ah… you want it for take away!

Me: Noooo! More time in the oven…

Waiter: Sorry we don’t do that.

The four of us totally gave up.

Me: Okay just serve us the normal buns. Thank you!

Di namin alam if are we the problem or our explanation was bad. Our patience was totally toasted…

I mean tested.
